Costa Rican Adventures ... one of many! Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo an adventure I will never forget! Braulio Carrillo National Park is a natural rain forest with over 250 acres of pure green plants in their natural state and habitat. They provide these gondolas that take you among the different natural layers and you are able to see and admire the many different canopy layers of the beautiful rain forest. Zip lining is one of the favorite activities for tourists after the gondolas, it was a unique and very exciting experience!

Costa Rica in general is a walking community! People simply walk everywhere The cobble stone streets line up the typical surrounding neighborhoods around San Jose, like the Sabanilla neighborhood where my host family lived. Here a few pictures from my street and the strolls I take to get to our school bus stop...

FERIA Nacional del Chocolate en el Estadio Nacional de San José First weekend in San José, Costa Rica!! I was lucky enough to have been in town when the "Feria Nacional del Chocolate" was in town! I had the wonderful opportunity to taste and savor all kids of chocolate goodies and also bought a few pounds of chocolate to bring back home... all kids of natural and organic products were on sale at the famous Estadio Nacional or National Soccer Stadium. Here is a picture of me outside of the stadium and the SJO huge sign! Fun times! June 27, 2019... On this day we were picked up at the bus stop and were taken to get to see the UNIBE Campus which is where the graduate students will be taking their courses. UNIBE is actually a campus where the school of medicine and other sciences are taught, we actually share a small campus right next to this big structure, but we are surrounded by all the local students that attend this campus. We also had the opportunity to meet our instructors and had the chance to walk around campus and met local students as well.

!Hola a todos!!! I have arrived in Costa Rica just a few days ago, and the wacky weather already got the best of me! But, I am loving being here! Everything is soooo green! I love it! Just a few mishaps about my trip and the first few days here and already so much has happened! June 25, 2019... All students arrived at the airport and made it here safe (except my luggage) of course! June 26, 2019... The next day we went to the program orientation and I was able to participate in the walking tour of downtown San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. It is filled with all types of people and buildings and since San Jose is a fairly small area, downtown was very vibrant with all kinds of locals as we all foreigners like us. Costa Rica has walking culture so everyone walks everywhere, since distances are not that far from the downtown area. Here are a few of my favorite buildings in downtown San Jose.
